We went on MTR again, headed to Tung Chung at Lantau Island. Travelled around 30 mins or so… reached there around 10.30. Cable car station is just walking distance from the MTR station. We bought the package which includes 2-way cable car and entrance to 2 shows at Ngong Ping village – Walking with Buddha and Monkey’s Tale Theater at HKD 155 per person.
It wasn’t a long wait during the queue, as the cable car is moving at quite a fast speed. We reached the top of the mountain in 20 mins time, and stepped foot into the peaceful looking Ngong Ping Village. Went for the “Walking with Buddha” show which lasts only for 15 mins then we headed up to the Giant Buddha.
~mp3 player - explanation in different languages during Walking With Buddha. Mine's in English lah, of coz! :) ~
~great view!~
There, we bought a coupon for entrance into the Giant Buddha plus a vegetarian meal at the Po Lin Monastery - HKD 23.00 per person. For the vegetarian meal, we get a plate of fried bee hoon, one bowl of “Shan-Sui Tau Foo Fah” (soy milk custard) and selection of two cakes as desserts. The desserts are abit too sweet, but the Tau Foo Fah is fabulous. I would reckon to go for the hot one. The cold type is not as smooth, maybe due to the refrigeration.
We went for the Monkey’s Tale Theater after our meal, and I enjoyed it! Highly recommended! We then headed back to the Cable Car station at around 2.30pm, to Hong Kong for our next destination – The Peak.
Following the guide book, the walking directions to the Peak tram started from the Central MTR Station. We reached Hong Kong MTR, direct from Tung Chung without the need to switch MTR lines. Since Central MTR is linked to Hong Kong MTR, we thought we can walk to over. Anyway, clever me! I read that we can take bus 15 to Peak…and I forgot we wanted to go to the tram station. We boarded the bus nearby Hong Kong MTR, anxiously waiting to reach the tram station, only to realize that the bus actually goes straight up to the peak. HAhahha! Well, another experience of going uphill lo! The bus driver is super skillful. Scary ride for me!
Slight traffic jam on our way up, so, we reached there around 5.15 p.m. We visited Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. Sadly, our camera shows low battery sign…AIYO! Forgot to charge it yesterday….Still manage to take some photos with our camera, and the rest have to be taken using Hubby’s pda liao! We were lucky to be there during the Halloween season, so, we get to enjoy an additional show there….”SCREAM!” Looked something like haunted jail themed setup. Just a 3 mins walk into a very dark path, with performers jumping out of nowhere to scare you, but enuf to get me screaming wanting to get out! We laughed a lot after getting out, coz the uncle leading our group almost walked the wrong path and getting us to walk the same scary route once again! Lucky we realized we passed by the exit sign and shouted for him to take a U-turn! Heheh! Great experience!

For dinner at the peak, we choose BubbaGump, a restaurant themed after Forest Gump. We ordered America’s Seafood Sampler, BBQ Ribs and Blue Louisiana Lemonade (I GET TO TAKE THE GLASS!) – all for HKD 483.70 inclusive tax. NICE NICE! We paid HKD 20.00 per person to get up to the Sky Terrace for Hong Kong night viewing at the roof top. Superb view and great breeze!

~Display RUN to get your privacy on reading the menu....then turn to STOP FORREST STOP in red to get the waiters to come over....Definately better then yelling.~

We finally get to try the Peak Tram on our way back, costs us HKD 22.00 per person, we paid via Octopus Card…so convenient! We then took a bus from the Peak Tram terminus to Lan Kwai Fong. Its Beer time! Still was Happy Hour, so, we enjoyed a lower price on our drinks. That brings us to end of Day 2…. Tired…!
